Winds of incredible speed are raging in Germany! The worst storm in Brandenburg Heavy rain storm and hail hit Saxony and Thuringia. A storm left a trail of devastation in Brandenburg an der Havel. During local storms with gusts of wind, hail and heavy rain, trees were uprooted and roads flooded in Saxony and Thuringia on Tuesday evening. According to the German Weather Service, the storm moved from the west over Erfurt without much lead time. The storm brought wind gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour and hailstones up to one centimeter in diameter. Locally it rained up to 90 liters per square meter. In the Thuringian state capital of Erfurt, local public transport came to an almost complete standstill. Fallen trees and falling branches blocked rails and overhead lines.
